obituary for my silver shoes
Don’t you just hate it when your shoes spoil?

Well, rest in peace my beloved pair of silver shoes. Your straps are wearing out and I will miss you. We’ve had fun times together, pounding down the roads of certain streets. We’ve sprinted for the bus together, in record time that would have put an Olympic record holder’s dash to shame. We’ve laughed secretly (oh now I’m ascribing human-like intentionality to you, Daniel Dennett will be rolling his eyes) at how crazy people stop me on the streets offering to buy them off me. We’ve smirked secretly at the tons of people who keep asking me when I got them from. And we’ve heard a good many “Great legs” and “lovely shoes!” together, weathered a collection of the most creative pick-up lines together. I’ve had you since I was eighteen, which was four years back– my eighteenth birthday present from my brother-dearest, those days when he was young, poor and generous, whilst he’s older, richer and a conveniently forgetful 16-year old miser. I’ve worn you more than thirty times, and I’ve never shamed you in any one of my outfit combinations, always making sure you’re never hidden under jeans or pants. Even though I promised The Mother I’ll throw you away, your nice silver skeleton is too beautiful for words. Therefore, I’ve dashed up the stairs and hidden you in a box atop The Shoe Wardrobe. Rest in Peace, we’ve had good times together.
P.S. This is the first time I’ve been affected enough to write an obituary for my shoes, or for any of my possessions for that matter.
ruffle my feathers
So I picked up yet another short-sleeved jacket, this time with a ruffled collar. I have another top with such a collar which I absolutely love, so I thought it’d be perfect for matching with a dress. Couple that with my new earrings (which I call Lucy Liu earrings after Cashmere Mafia), and my new Man Boots– the perfect blend of androgyny– voila!

It looks so manly yet the chunky heel adds height and somewhat-feminity. Also, leather and silk furnish the perfect juxtaposition

Previously I’d worn the silk dress this way. . (a good many months ago for a dinner with the gurlfriends– I am so ashamed of my already-bursted wardrobe this is the second time I’ve worn the dress)

And also, the other ruffled-collar top. .

Seeing this at Guess? was lust at first sight. It’s a tad loose, but the gold buttons and embellishments make up for it. I’m thinking of wearing it with a black top and with a black-and-white printed scarf the next time round. Woot woot for Guess?!

Isn’t this Mango dress too gorgeous for words!? I’m hooked. And sold.

the larger the better
Lazy dressed-down day to the skin doc’s means minimal accessories, the same ol’ pair of red stilettoes, the same ol’ bag and a large pair of earrings.

Ahh well, I have a huge penchant for PJs– I even wear them out. I think they are art, and are superb for lounging around the house in. Today was generally a lazy day, so it was PJs day.

bejeweled
I love jewel tones, so I thought this poufy-sleeved satin top would be fab for work on Thursday, coupled with my new hugeassed earrings.

On Friday, I had tons of errands to run, and a few different sets of people to meet. For project meetings, some shopping, and meet-ups.

At Zara I decided on these two:

I especially love this shade of green, and notice the side ribbons as tassels that are uber-lovely. I’m thinking it can also be worn as a top. Fabulous.
Sunday was an easy and extremely sunny day, so I wore an old lace dress out with my summery wedges. Part of the pit-stops, again, were some shops. It’s the holidays after all.

isn’t this doggie bag adorable?
i dream of socks

My package from Sock Dreams arrived, and this was one of them. This pair of shoes is particularly painful to wear, in that it pinches in the front despite the umpteenth times I have brought it to be expanded. So the only time I can wear them are with tights, stockings and socks.

Another monochromatic getup to work. Actually I began with the camisole which is so big it’s safety pinned to death. Sometimes I buy the wrong sizes so you can actually see extra larges, larges, mediums, smalls and extra-smalls in my wardrobe when I’m really an XXS. Actually, make that an XXXS. Tucked it into my Sara Sturgeon skirt because I thought I’d wear it another time before sending it to the dry cleaner’s. And then The Mother told me, “Hey wear my vest”. And voila.

Today, however, I tied the skirt at the side rather than in the middle.

Clearly I am in need of more black shoes. Actually, I might have seven pairs. Just that this one’s perfect for sprinting for the bus in.
