the beggars are coming to town

Posted in style by portia on July 10th, 2008

I woke up this morning with a fever. Popped some pills and fell asleep. But I had stuff to see to later, and thankfully the fever wore down, I was up and about by 2.

Threw on my PJ top– yup, it’s really PJs– and then I decided not to sell this old pair of cutoffs but rather roll up the hem and play with it.

See the tiny rings at the sides of the pockets? My dad calls them the Beggar Sect a.k.a. 丐帮 pants because in pugilistic China where all swordfighting novels are set in, there exists a sect of highly skilled beggars. The leaders would have rings around their pockets, and from these, stuff and trinkets and what-nots would hang off.

One day on, I’ve decided I really love the hair. And the command not to wash my hair and let the chemicals settle in was followed. No matter how strange it felt. I hate sleeping without washing my hair. It’s the greatest sin ever, living in a tropical climate like this.

a burst of color

Posted in style by portia on May 27th, 2008

Ahh well, I have a huge penchant for PJs– I even wear them out. I think they are art, and are superb for lounging around the house in. Today was generally a lazy day, so it was PJs day.

g is for grey

I am a big fan of The Brother’s army cap. Since he’s a seargent at Junior Cadets, I get to steal tons of his stuff.

Psst. . army stuff are dirt-cheap. The best place ever to get berets, military badges, pants, even rucksacks for less than a steal.

pink

Pink is my favorite color, Steve Tyler once sang.
Ahh well, I do love pink. Even if there are weeks when exclusively in red, black and white.

It isn’t raining, the fan ain’t switched on, but I’m positively freezing. What better excuse to be all wrapped up. And look at all the prints on the blanket and on the bedspread.

PJ parties

Posted in style by portia on March 2nd, 2008

I’m normally in my ratty-tats at home, a.k.a. paint-splattered and dotted with holes. But sometimes I do like PJs. PJ parties are always fun with the gurlfriends, and leave beautiful memories to look back upon. Heck, you’re only young once.

I know I’m always in the same pair of PJ pants but I love the way they look.

Great places to buy PJs are always La Senza, Victoria’s Secret and M&S.

madcaps

Wearing hats always makes me feel like The Mad Hatter. Although I think I might be Alice who went “curioser and curioser” as she quite forgot how to speak, down the Rabbit Hole. .

nighties and bathrobes

One of my worst habits is wearing PJs and laundre out. Layered, of course.
