busy, busy

Finally I’m done with packing. All I need is to dump in some last minute stuff tomorrow, like contact lens case and eyeglasses. Wheewy. A tad freaked out at the amount of stuff to be brought to battle the winter cold, I thought, shit, I’ll die if I exceed baggage limit. This time I’m only carrying one bag– a large one, so I can dump everything (including shopping loot) — and I’m only carrying one handbag for a change. It’s so sad to only be able to bring two pairs of boots, a pair of wedges and a pair of flats along. That’s. . little! Anyhows, I lugged the entire bag down and weighed it. (I don’t even weigh myself, as long as I think I look healthy, I’m fine). The scales registered 13kg! Yay. I can lug home 7kg of shopping!

A few days back I sorted my ‘loose’ bangles into this box, that which doesn’t yet include my larger and fatter bangles. Verdict? I might have enough bangles to rival an Indian. Ahh well, in my defense, I always tell my mother I was brought up more Indian than Chinese. She worked in a North Indian company, so I was well-ingratiated into the Indian lifestyle of exotic spices, naan, tandoori, saris, sweets, Hindi music/actors/movies, bangles and plain yoghurt. I’m more comfortable with these than some Chinese stuff.

I found a satin laundre bag somewhere in my drawer. On it is embroidered, “A Week Of Undies”. I remember Blush! had this A Panty A Day range. All delicate lace boyshorts with the day embroidered on them, and in the yummiest color combinations ever. So obviously laundre-addict me who buys all sorts of impractical laundre, saying I’ll just wear them under black clothes, has a whole collection.

Alright, the luggage’s a little . . colorful in terms of contents.

rough drawings and scrawls so I don’t overpack. Hah. I love doing these mood boards/ inspiration boards everytime since I’m not used to planning my outfits in advance. Not even one night in advance.

And a mini-sized book as well. . Okay, fine, I packed two books. Both, as I realize, have Jewish theme to them. The other’s by Primo Levi, about life in a concentration camp.
fleur II
The same red-and-white dress worn last year for the last day of the cruise. I love looking at old photos, they have a nostalgic air to them.

And quite obviously, the blue duffel was packed along to bring. . the spoils of shopping home!

Last July, The Best Friend and I embarked on my maiden voyage aboard a cruise ship. Which was doubtlessly immensely pleasurable, and definitely unforgettable. Whilst as usual, we showed up in the same stuff– this time, a pair of shoes– unanimously, and realized we were the most over-dressed on deck.
